SALGA Wins Right to March in India Day Parade!
The South Asian Lesbian & Gay Association of New York City (SALGA) serves to promote awareness, tolerance, acceptance, empowerment and safe spaces for sexual minorities and people of all gender identities, who trace their heritage to South Asia or who identify as South Asian.
And they were not going to include SALGA in the India Day Parade????

If you have never been to a SALGA event first off you are missing something wonderful but you should know they are an all inclusive group and do not turn away folks that are not of South Asian / Indian heritage. Yes that means everyone can share in the celebration of SALGA's inclusion of this years India Day Parade.
You may want to glam it up a bit as Bollywood actress Preity Zinta will be the grand marshal at this year's India Independence Day Parade!
I had the pleasure of working with Preity on the film कà¤ी अलविदा न कहना / Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and when the cameras stopped rolling she was just a joy to be around, laughing and joking with the cast, I think she makes an excellent choice for Grand Marshal.
